The casino itself, called Glory of Rome, rests on a four hundred and fifty foot boat which floats out on the water, and while it may not quite feel like a river cruise – the boat is completely static, and enclosed – you will actually be on top of the river at all times, as evidenced by the presence of the life jackets and rings that dot the perimeter of the casino.
If you are staying in or near Louisville, then you will be able to take advantage of the Caesar’s in Southern Indiana, which is commonly known as ‘The Boat’ to local residents. There are in fact no casino riverboats that are legally based in Kentucky, but because the state border runs alongside the Ohio River you can easily access Kentucky casinos in other states at only a short distance away. If you are going to be visiting the state soon and would like to indulge in a trip to one of the Kentucky River casinos, you have a limited range of choice.
